Whazzit? #

Not going to spend a lot of time talking about Cloudburst -- The game is pretty self-explanatory. You use the arrow keys to move, and the spacebar to fire. Try to "scratch" bullets (get real close) to gain score. By default, easy mode is the only option you have, but if you beat easy mode you get a more difficult version of the stage. The boss is also meaner.

Why only one stage? This game is a demo game I wrote in about a week's time to test GarageGame's new Torque 2D engine. It's also a proof-of-concept game to demonstrate that I can indeed make a game with modern graphics. ;) As far as I am concerned, the experiment has been a wild success. I love T2D and while I had some initial rough bumps, I've ironed most of them out and I think it's a solid platform.

I would like to hear back from you about the game. My email is fenrirwolf@gapingwolf.com.

Troubleshooting #
---------------

> Game is too slow!

  1. Try reducing the resolution. It defaults to 1024x768, but if your system is having trouble, trying 800x600 or even 640x480. Visually, the game scales well so you won't notice much difference at lower resolutions.

  2. Turn off the extra visual effects in the graphics tab of the configuration screen. You can disable the particle explosions, clouds, and various miscellaneous effects.

> It won't run! Or crashes! Argh!

  1. Don't panic. I am using an Early Adopter version of T2D (think of it as a beta). There might be problems. You can help me fix these problems by running the game with the "-log" command line option. This will output a file called console.log. Email that to me, and I'll see what I can do. You can also try using the Direct3D renderer instead of the OpenGL one (check the graphics tab of the configuration screen).
